Tuning at JM Automotive

At JM Automotive, we specialize in tuning and overhauling engines and gearboxes for classic and vintage cars. The outdated technology in these cars requires a different approach than modern engines, which are equipped with electronic engine management systems and shift programs. However, we do use the latest (measuring) equipment and machines during tuning and reconditioning, so that we can work with the right precision!

Roller bench & Engine test bench

For power measurements, we have a Dynostar roller bench for 2- and 4-wheel drive cars with power outputs up to 1340 hp and 4900 Nm. This is an indispensable tool for tuning the engine so that it performs and responds optimally in every rev range. Especially with classic and vintage cars, which are still equipped with carburetors or mechanical injection systems, there is much to be gained in terms of driveability. The tuning and synchronous adjustment of multiple carburetors must be carried out with the necessary precision. Not only will the customer enjoy driving their car much more, but it will also be more economical, last longer, and perform optimally. For larger projects, we have access to an engine test bench (water brake) that allows us to test and run in engines before they are installed in the car. This is an ideal way to ensure that everything is 100% in order before the engine is reinstalled, especially in the case of newly reconditioned engines.
