Technical description
History
This car was manufactured on October 1, 1985, at the Dingolfing plant. On November 11, 1985, an "Übergabedurchsicht (nach Werksvorschrift durchgeführt)" was carried out by the then BMW Motorsport GmbH at Preußenstraße 45 in Munich. The car was then delivered on January 18, 1986, to the then BMW dealer in Carpi (Modena), "Car Service Center s.r.l." On February 13, the car was registered for use on public roads and was given the license plate number 'BOD69142'. The car still has the same Italian license plate number.
The first owner of this first type of M5 was Franco Fava, who was born in Bologna on January 17, 1948. This businessman acquired the car on November 3, 1988. On May 20, 1997, the car came into the possession of Anna Cuomo (born on February 9, 1950, in Ischia, a small island off the coast of Naples). However, she was not the regular driver; that was her son. But for insurance reasons, the car was registered in this lady's name. On May 3, 2018, Niccolo Cravetto (born on March 4, 1987, in Turin) became the lucky owner. We purchased the car from Niccolo, and so this unique early M5 (no. 251 of all M5s ever built) came into our possession on May 9, 2019.
