The Mercedes Pagoda series has become legendary. The Pagoda came in three variants: the 230 SL, 250 SL, and 280 SL. All were equipped with a 6-cylinder inline engine and had more than enough power.
The cars were initially intended as sports cars, but their looks also make them ideal as stylish touring cars.
The series was designed by Frenchman Paul Bracq, who also designed cars for BMW and Peugeot, among others. The name "Pagoda" originated because the car's hardtop is reminiscent of Oriental pagoda roofs.
